About APEA
The American Public Energy Agency ("APEA"), a nonprofit agency, was formed in 1995 for the purpose of providing energy acquisition and energy-related services for its members and other public agencies, and to assist such agencies in acquiring stable energy supplies, reducing energy costs through group purchases, and developing enhanced energy acquisition mechanisms.
In the last ten years, APEA has issued taxable and tax-exempt financings whose proceeds of more than $1.8 billion have been used to purchase in excess of 875,000,000 MMBtu of low cost, long-term natural gas supplies for public entities nationwide. APEA's central geographic location in the United States puts it squarely in the middle of the nation's energy flow; effectively, positioning APEA to serve its members and other public energy partners throughout the country.
